Massive shades with exhaust are more suitable for discharge lamps with higher heat output. They are also suitable for growing areas that are at risk of high temperatures. So-called hot spots appear under discharge lamps with high power. The high temperature around the tent also contributes to their formation, which is why they are the biggest problem especially in above-average warm months.

Exhaust hoods are quite robust and slightly heavier than regular reflectors. The heat emitted by the lamp is drawn out of the grow space by a fan.
