The OctoGrow and QuadGrow self-watering systems have no pump or timer and work in a similar natural way to the Autopot. Passive hydroponics without the use of electricity, using only the forces of nature. Nutriculture wick systems water plants only when they need it. The risk of overflow or drying out is minimal.

The wick moistens the substrate and when it dries, it is moistened again from the tank. In this way, water and nutrients reach the roots. The advantage is minimal costs and very simple operation. The disadvantage is low oxygenation of the substrate and root system. Remember that when growing plants under artificial lighting, the evaporation of water from the system can be faster.
